WooCommerce Try-On — User Guide
Merchant steps for shoe AR try-on. Clothing is covered in the clothing plugin guide. Shoe size is not a step in this plugin; see Recommend a shoe size.
Before you start
- WordPress 6.2+, WooCommerce 8.0+, PHP 8.0+
- A WEARFITS API key from dash.wearfits.com
- Product photos that are publicly reachable over HTTPS (the 2D to 3D API fetches them)
Install
- Install WEARFITS Shoes Tryon from WordPress.org (Plugins → Add New), or upload a plugin zip.
- Activate the plugin.
- Open WooCommerce → WEARFITS Try-On and paste the API key.
To keep the key out of the database, define WEARFITS_SHOES_TRYON_API_KEY in wp-config.php instead.
Enable a product
- Edit a product in a Shoes / Footwear category (or the equivalent name in Polish, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Dutch, or Czech).
- Open Product Data → WEARFITS Try-On.
- Either:
- Click Digitize with WEARFITS, or
- Paste an existing try-on URL and save.
Digitize submits gallery image URLs to POST /api/v1/shoe-3d and polls until a viewer URL is stored. Typical wait is a few minutes; the product editor shows Queued → Processing → Completed. If the job fails, the plugin shows the reason and leaves any manual URL untouched. Use Retry digitization to submit again.
You can use the plugin without an API key by pasting URLs only.
What shoppers see
Once a product has a valid try-on URL, the product page shows Virtual Try-On:
- Desktop — modal with a QR code; scan with a phone to enter AR
- Mobile — opens the WEARFITS AR viewer directly
Eligibility
Automatic digitization is offered for products whose category slug or name looks like footwear. Other catalogs can still paste a URL, or a developer can override eligibility (see shoes plugin).
